Recently read the very interesting book written by Bhism Sahni named "TAMAS". There was description about situation during riots among Hindu, Muslim and Sikhs during India, Pakistan partition.
Author Bhism Sahni had beautifully explained the circumstances by using one story line. One can feel that what was the role of Indian congress, britishers, Muslim legue and mentality of hindu, muslim and sikhs................
Author has described the terror of that period. Government could stop the riots by using some resources, but could not do intentionally by saying that it is a religious matter among the people and then started the dance of cruelty.
In 1986 the film was made named TAMAS and telecasted on doordarshan as an serial.
